Motorcycle-Superstore.com rider Canfield hits trifecta on last day of Loretta Lynn’s
|HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn. (Aug. 3) – Motorcycle-Superstore.com Bell Helmet rider Jazzmyn Canfield completed the Girls (9-11) class trifecta for a second straight year at the Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch on Saturday.
Canfield won three Motorcycle Superstore Holeshot Awards, all three of her motos, and the Girls (9-11) National Championship. Does it get more perfect for the rider from Florida
“No, not really,” Canfield said. “I’ve led every race I’ve ever had here, so it’s cool knowing that I can win here. I’ve gotten every holeshot, too, so I’m really pumped about how this went.
“It feels so good every time you win and to be on a long winning streak.”
This was the final year of racing in this category for Canfield, but she welcomes the challenges that come from moving up through the ranks.
“I race with the older girls next year,” she said. “I hope I can keep it going.”
Canfield wasn’t the only rider to join the three-holeshot win club on Saturday. Aaron Plessinger picked up his third $100 Motorcycle Superstore Holeshot award of the week on his way to winning the National Championship in the 250B class, which was carried on live television nationwide.
“I just stayed consistent,” Plessinger said. “It’s funny, two of my holeshots came in the mud. I guess the bike was hooking up great in the mud. I stayed up on the bike and pinned it.
“I’ve never been on live TV before. It felt great getting that holeshot; it gave me the chills. I’m going to replay this race for days.”
Trey Green won the holeshot, his first at the Ranch, in the 250C Limited race. He gave much of the credit for the award to his father.
“My dad has killer gate-picking skills,” Green said. “He’s just a pro at it. All I had to do was time the gate good and jump off. I picked a gate where there wasn’t a deep rut and it just worked out good. I’m pumped about it.”
Cody Eaton said he didn’t know he had won a holeshot award until he finished his Mini Sr. (12-14) Limited moto.
“I knew I was really close, but I wasn’t sure if I got it,” Eaton said. “I haven’t had the best of motos this week. I think I pulled a Top 10 overall. I’m excited though because this was my first holeshot here.”
