Dwight Dasher has finished his 4 game suspension and could not be more grateful for the opportunity to be back on the field. Dasher stated that “I’ve never liked sitting on the sidelines, so I feel real good about being back out there, but things just feel different today, and I thank the Lord that I’m out here and playing.”
Dasher was a huge part of the MTSU offense last year as he was able to gain 2789 yards through the air and 1154 rushing yards also giving the Blue Raiders 36 total TD’s. (23 passing 13 rushing)
Although Logan Kilgore and Jeff Murphy did a good job in Dashers’ absence, his position as the Blue Raiders starting QB was never in question. All the teammates of Dasher are in full favor of him being the starting QB. WR Sancho McDonald stated, “It’s Dwight Dasher, and that feels good. We’ve got that Dwight Dasher feeling right now, Dwight has a special chemistry with everybody. We know what he can do. It’s nothing against the other quarterbacks, because they did a good job, but when (Dasher) is on the field people get the feeling that (MTSU) will really get rolling”
Dasher is trying to get in as much practice as he can this week due to the fact his practice reps were limited while suspended. He does have a long week of practice ahead and should have plenty of time to regain that level of play with which he ended last season with.
MTSU is 2-2 so far this year and currently hold 1st place in the Sun Belt conference. Troy will be a difficult adversary as they also hold a 2-2 record and have a very effective offensive unit as they currently rank 6th in the FSB in with 318.3 passing yards per game.
