Nashville, TN ( 12/29)………..The Wildshore Salon played host to the Music City Bowl’s Coaches Luncheon on Wednesday morning in downtown Nashville. Presented by News Channel 2 and hosted by their sports anchor Cory Curtis, the event attracted nearly 2,000 participates which included the team squads from both the UT Vols and the NC Tar Heels.
The Tar Heel squad of coach Butch Davis was introduced first. The popular Vol team of coach Vince Dooley was then introduced to the partisan native state fans. The entire three stories of the salon was occupied by the sold out crowd.
The invocation was presented by the Vol’s Randy Brown. Title sponsor Franklin American Mortgage Company President Don Crockett presented the traditionalservice award to the local Columbia High School football student who lost his battle with cancer on the same day his team played in the State Championship.
Both team head coaches were then introduced to a round of applause. Curtis then presented the coaches with questions regarding the match up, which is the first in 49 years and the first ever in a bowl game. The Vols are making their first ever appearance in this Bowl.
Both coaches expressed their appreciation to the Bowl organizers for the hospitality extended to both schools so far. Coach Dooley is leading the 6-6 record Vols to the Bowl in his first season as head coach.
